Research Fellow (Master AND Post-doc)

for the research project “Theory-based interventions to improve self-care adherence in people with heart failure” has become available now for an initial period of 26 months. The job advertisement is part of a research project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

The research is aimed at improving self-care in people with heart failure through the development of behavioural interventions and comprises four working steps: (1) extraction of specific factors, so-called “target behaviours” from meta-studies; (2) mapping of extracted behaviours associated with adherence or non-adherence onto the COM-B behavioural model; (3) identification of effective behavioural change techniques; and (4) adaptation of behavioural change interventions to local needs using qualitative research methods.

In this context, we are looking for a researcher with (almost) completed doctorate (postdoctoral position) to conduct the study. The tasks include guided and independent project planning, implementation and evaluation, publication of results in international scientific journals, very good written and spoken English and presentation at conferences.

Prerequisites for an application are a university degree and an (almost) completed doctorate (PhD or equivalent) (e.g. in the fields of psychology, nursing science, medicine, public health, health sciences, sociology, pedagogy), preferably previous experience with the development of behaviour change interventions and own publications, experience with qualitative research as well as a high degree of independence and teamwork.

We offer a scientifically stimulating environment with national and international co-operations as well as the freedom to work independently and to develop personally and professionally in a multidisciplinary team with flat organisational structures.

For further questions please contact Dr Oliver Herber ([email protected]).

The remuneration is in accordance with the provisions of TV-L.

The employment contract is concluded with the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.
